The Ashburnham Memorial Group Steering Committee would like to thank all the volunteers who attended our annual “Before the Snow Flies” Fall Cleanup of Ashburnham Memorial Park on November 4th/2023. There was a lot of very heavy material and a lot of very hard work that went into this year’s fall cleanup and we are grateful for all of the support that we received. A hearty thank you also to Tim Hortons on Hunter Street East who once again provided the refreshments. They were gratefully received!
30 volunteers cleared a LOT of garbage from the park! Here is the rundown:
– 3 hours of work
– 30 bags of garbage
– 5 car tires
– 3 bicycle tires
– heavy construction material
– several empty fire extinguishers
– furniture
– road sign
– car parts
– Foodland shopping cart (that was returned by city staff)
– bottles, cans and other recyclables
– cigarette butts for upcycling
